TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND NEW PRODUCTS

Over the last 10 – 15 years Rory has been involved in the development and testing of new tools and products. His own company has benefitted enormously from the introduction of new tools and systems.

His company is finding that they can install more material, easier, faster and without the loss of quality.

A point very much worth noting is that the tools not only benefit the installer and end user, proper use also cuts down the amount of injuries and time loss experienced by employers.

Why do more companies not use new tools and products? Rory believes there are two reasons:

1. Employers and floor layers do not get to see the tools demonstrated, therefore cannot make a true assessment, so, do not invest.
2. Tools and products are not really made as available as they should be, to encourage the flooring installer to buy, again, no investment.

Rory uses his courses, site visits and site assessments to introduce floor layers to new tools on a “try before you buy” basis. This gives the benefit of an introduction to perhaps a better way of undertaking a particular task, training on the tool, plus an open and frank discussion on the advantages and disadvantages.

Rory neither asks nor receives any personal payment for the introduction, demonstration or sale of new tools.
