CSCS (OSAT) ACCREDITATION

Qualifications are available in Textile, Impervious, and wood. It is our strong recommendation that any candidate attempt all routes he/she is regularly involved in. Full funding may be available through Construction Skills.

OSAT helps experienced workers get the qualifications to prove they can do the job. It turns their existing skills and experience into a nationally recognised qualification such as an NVQ or SVQ. Having these qualifications also helps qualify them for a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.

The whole process is carried out whilst your workforce is on site so they don't have to take time off to go to college. Scotfloor do all the paperwork, assessment and arrange a health and safety test. The process is as follows:

We arrange a suitable time to visit.
A candidate skills profile is undertaken. College enrolment forms completed etc.
Candidate meets criteria, assessment begins. Assessor assists/works with candidate to achieve standard(s). (In almost all cases candidates with a minimum 5 years experience will achieve).
A portfolio is created by the assessor, involving various types of evidence proving competency: (References, witness statements, assessor observations, photographs, client letters, plans of works, Relevant certificates of courses attended etc are some examples of evidence that can be used)
If required a second visit can be arranged, however it is to the candidate's advantage to be prepared for the visit. (This could allow the portfolio to be completed on one visit).
On completion, portfolio is presented to college for verification and if successful college notifies SQA (Scottish Qualification Authority) for award.
During the above assessment timescale, Scotfloor books a Health and safety test for the Candidate. (A book or CD is provided for guidance on passing the test)
As soon as candidate receives his certificates he can then apply for CSCS accreditation. www.cscs.uk.com
